o You must have already completed a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and be completing at least a Master's degree at the time of application. Should your studies not be divided into undergraduate and graduate stages, you must have already completed at least 3 years of full time studies at a University or equivalent institution and be in your 4th year of full time studies towards a same diploma;
o Fluency (oral and written) in both English and Chinese;
o Education or any other major in the social science fields;
o Good communication skills, including writing skills;
o Strong strategic, analytical skills;
o Good computer and IT skills and experience in using office software packages;
o An awareness of the many facets of a multicultural world and a commitment to international public service are essential.
o Assist in collecting documents in connection with education policies and laws, legislation, government reports, research papers and media reports and articles, journals for the education programme;
o Assist with preparation of project documents and reports to support the supervisor in the coordination and implementation of UNESCO Education programme, education projects, SDG4 Coordination and activities;
o Assist in the organization of UNESCO education programme seminars, workshops and events;
o Assist and contribute towards the preparation of education projects proposals for donor funding;
o Assist in the follow-up of education sector at Regional Bureau and UNESCO headquarters tasks and deadlines and implementation aspects of education programme;
o Assist in the follow-up with UNESCO partners in Education in the Cluster Countries and Category II Centres;
o Provide assistance to administrative tasks to support the staff of the UNESCO Beijing Education Section;
o Other tasks that may be assigned by the Supervisor and Director and Representative of the UNESCO Beijing Office.
o The duration of an internship must be between four and six months, at least four days each week, full-time preferred;
o The aim of the internship is to provide you with professional experience in an international organization which relates to and supplements your studies;
o An internship affords you the opportunity to work in a multicultural, intergovernmental organization;
o UNESCO does not remunerate or pay interns. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions;
o As the internship programme is not connected with the recruitment process, the grating of an internship should not be interpreted in any way as a preliminary step towards employment at the Secretariat.
