Five interns to contribute to the Child Welfare Project


for a period of 4-10 weeks during May-November in Beijing


UNICEF is the leading United Nations organization for children. We are now seeking to find five motivated and qualified interns for the annual Child Welfare Project to support and improve programme documentation as well as knowledge management under the Child Protection programme in China. Particular focus will be in translation, developing child welfare communication material and providing logistics support to programme activities.


How can you make a difference?


Translation

  • Chinese to English translation of Barefoot Social Worker (BFSW) Project annual report and posters

  • Chinese to English translation of 2017 Child Welfare Policy Stocktaking report

  • Chinese to English translation of summaries on the reports on Community-based Organization (CBO) Participation in BFSW Model, and Provincial Child State

  • Chinese to English translation of other short project related materials, including agenda and participants lists of events, conferences, meetings


Development of child welfare communication material

  • Support the development and pre-test of community communication Information Education Communication (IEC) materials for BFSW

  • Convert key messages into WeChat and long Weibo format for BFSW public WeChat and Weibo Apps

  • Convert existing training material into video/PowerPoint


Logistics support for following activities during the summer

  • High level advocacy summer camp and national social mobilization event for the care of vulnerable children

  • Child ambassador trainings

  • Social Mobilization Summer Camp for vulnerable children to access to Art


To qualify as an advocate for every child, you have…


  • Completed at least two years of full-time studies at a university or equivalent institution towards the completion of an undergraduate degree, with major in English, art, social work, research, or child protection

  • Previous volunteer/intern experience desired but not necessary

  • Fluency in English and Chinese

  • Good computer skills


In addition, you will be able to…

  • Provide two letters of recommendation from your university and the latest transcript

  • Fund yourself for the travel to duty station (UNICEF Beijing office) and accommodation & living expenses
