    Location: Country Office Beijing (COBeijing)

    KeyTasks and Responsibilities

    Theintern will work directly with the UNHCR office, under guidance and supervisionof Digital Communications Associate and s/he will perform the following tasks:

    a)Translate UNHCR media materials (press releases, statements, briefing notes,pamphlets and brochures), policy documents and reports from English to Chinese,and vice versa.

    b)Assist in editing multimedia materials (video, audio and images) ready forposting on to the online channels (website, social media) and for distributingto the general public.

    c)Assist in collecting news clippings on UNHCR and its mandate on a daily basis.

    Undertakeother duties as required by the Supervisor.

      

    RequiredSkills and Qualifications

    a)University enrolment: a Bachelor Programme student or above;

    b)Academic background in English language and literature, Translation Studies,International Communication Studies, etc.;

    c)Excellent written and spoken English and Chinese, excellent translation skillsin the English language;

    d)Prior internship experience in translation is a strong asset;

    e)Ability to work in a team;

    f)Reliability in keeping deadlines and delivering a high quality of work;

    g)Good computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Good skill in videoeditor software, like Aegisub is an asset.

      

    OtherRequirements

    a)Interns are required to complete mandatory UNHCR training before commencementof the internship.

    b)UNHCR does not remunerate or pay interns, costs and arrangements for travel,visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns ortheir sponsoring institutions.
